The Brother DSmobile DS-640 scanner is suitable for lightweight scanning on portable or desktop computers, single-sided (single-sided) scanning, manual feed scanning, and inexpensive. The scanner has the same description as the highly portable, inexpensive basic scanner. The basics mean you don’t need to use an automatic document feeder (ADF) and double-sided printing (double-sided scanning). The scanning utility that came with the scanner can run as promised, but only in a variety of image formats, including JPG and image PDF. In most cases, scanning with PaperPort is more useful, so you can take advantage of its document management capabilities. PaperPort makes it easy for you to organize files through a command, send files to programs or other destinations, and scan and send pages for a variety of file formats, including RTF, image PDF, and searchable PDF formats. Although the Brother DSmobile DS-640 scanner only provides manual feed, scanning with PaperPort makes it easy to scan multi-page documents into a single file. To start scanning, place the page in the front slot of the scanner, let the scanner grab it, and then issue a scan command. After each page, you’ll see a dialog box asking if you want to scan another page, you can choose to fill another page, click Cancel, or wait 30 seconds to close the dialog box. USB-connected scanners are usually set up, basically including installing software and then using the provided USB cable to connect the Brother DSmobile DS-640 scanner. In addition to the Twain driver, which lets you scan from most Windows programs using scan commands, the software includes scanning utilities for document management and optical character recognition (OCR) Nuance PaperPort 12 SE and NewSoft Presto! BizCard 6 for business card scanning. In addition, the installer includes the option to download BR-Receipts, the program that Brother used to manage expense receipts.
